Black Rocks Campground is definitely worth the 3 hour trip from Brisbane and the 20km dirt road in, being our first time at a NSW P&WS ground they have set themselves very high standards and I look forward to discovering more of their sites and coming back to Black Rocks.

We stayed here over the long weekend, first time we've ventured down but I've heard great things about the area so I decided to see for myself. We were not disappointed.

Spectacular beach and well worth the detour form the highway or the drive from Iluka on the beach.

    - the surrounds are picturesque, the beach is fantastic (even if its hard to find sand), Jerusalem creek is great for fishing, swimming and kayaking, there are also plenty of tracks and fireroads around to explore by foot or bike.

    - the sites are a generous size(we usually camp free range)and very well maintained and all have their own picnic table, some even have fire pits, shower poles, clothes lines and gazebos a nice surprise that shows NSW P&WS are willing to go the extra mile (unlike alot of private campgrounds). Even though the grounds were fully booked it felt very private and secluded.

Very primitive, no water and pit toilets. Right on the beach and beautiful area. Privacy good

    - the facilities at the grounds are standard drop toilets, gas bbq's and no bins due to the active wildlife. If you're not willing to actually camp then I'd suggest finding another ground.

It's taken a bit of convincing myself to review Black Rocks, but because it doesn't have any reviews I'll do it justice and won't keep this amazing place to myself.
